Who We Are
Bay Area Sportsmen is a California based private-land hunting and guided experience group built by lifelong hunters, landowners, and outdoorsmen. We specialize in connecting responsible hunters with high-quality private ranch access, experienced local guides, and well-run hunts across Northern and Central California. Our focus is simple: ethical hunting, great land, and a professional client experience from first contact through the end of the hunt.
What We Do

Josh Peixoto
Co-Founder & Guide
Josh is a lifelong California hunter known for his ability to read land and find animals. From wild pigs and deer to upland birds and predators, he specializes in tracking, terrain analysis, and understanding how game moves through cover, water, and pressure.
Josh also works directly with landowners to manage properties for better hunting. His experience with habitat, access, and animal patterns helps ensure every hunt takes place on ground that is productive, safe, and set up for success.
Trave Simmons
Property Owner & Guide
TJ brings a broad and diverse hunting background to Bay Area Sportsmen, with experience across multiple states, species, and terrain types. He focuses on matching hunters with the right property, timing, and strategy based on how animals actually behave in the field.
Known for his mentorship and hands-on approach, TJ helps hunters dial in gear, shot placement, and field tactics. His goal is simple: safer hunts, cleaner harvests, and better outcomes for every client.
Jason Nasrah
Co-Founder & Guide
Jason is the strategist of the group. With decades of serious hunting experience, he is known for understanding seasonal movement, animal behavior, and how to position hunters where opportunities are most likely to happen.
Jason leads hunt planning and execution, making sure each outing is well-timed, well-run, and focused on ethical harvests. Whether guiding first-time hunters or experienced sportsmen, his job is to make every hunt feel deliberate, professional, and worth repeating.
Maxwell Simmons
Property Owner & Guide
Max brings a landowner’s perspective to every hunt. He focuses on building responsible hunting access on well-managed private land across California, creating opportunities that simply do not exist on public ground.
Max oversees property access, safety infrastructure, and hunter experience. His properties feature controlled access, safe shooting lanes, and dedicated areas for sight-in, gear checks, and orientation. He is deeply committed to firearm safety, ethical harvest, and delivering a professional experience from first contact to the end of the hunt.
